Thurlbear Primary School is a country school that serves the villages and hamlets of Neroche Parish and adjacent areas
"Our School Vision is to create an irresistible Church School; a beacon for learning experiences which lead to great life achievements.
Thurlbear CE VA Primary School is a seven class primary school in an idyllic setting in the hamlet of Thurlbear on the outskirts of Taunton. We are very proud of all that goes on here and as this website demonstrates the children at Thurlbear are supported in their learning by a dedicated team of staff, governors and parents"
(taken from school website).
The school was established in 1872 and is a Voluntary Aided School, which means that the Church is represented by a majority of the Governors and that the teaching staff are in sympathy with the Christian Faith as expressed by the Church of England. The School celebrated its 125th Anniversary during 1997.
The aim of the school is to give children a foundation for life, in a Christian, caring atmosphere and prepare them for their developing role into the secondary stage of their education.
